“Hey who want to come to my birthday party on this Saturday?” Collin announced loudly to the class, expecting many ‘me!’s. However, the only response was a few groans and people saying, “Aw man! We’re going to miss the Rich Man Son’s birthday! I have so many tuition classes! How can I go?” Only Collin's few buddies, Harry, Iain, and William said they would try to rearrange their timetables on that day to make it for his party. Collin thought, “It would be also fun to have a quiet party with only a few friends, we would have a lot of fun and food!”
The next day, Harry gathered Iain, and William to go shopping at the mall after school for a splendid gift for Collin. They finally decided that that rich bookworm should want a book! So, they bought Collin a full set Sherlock Holmes Mysteries Stories that cost a bomb to the children. Then, they all wanted to give Collin a surprise, and they wanted it to somehow scare Collin. Finally, after some discussion, they decided that they would buy some rubber insect toys. And then at night when they are eating dinner, they would hide and switch off the lights and then they would lay the insects onto Collin and give him the fright! The whole class knew that Collin had a phobia of darkness and insects, but before they decided on that idea , Iain said, “I don’t think that is a good idea. I have this feeling that it would turn out to be unpleasant.”
“Then you stay out of this,” Harry mumbled.
Iain, who was always a person who does not like to offend anyone, decided that he would stay out of it.
“Hey William, you’re always causing so much trouble for us! You anger that teachers and they give us extra homework. If you dare irritate and disrupt the class today tomorrow we would not be having fun but doing homework! Got it?” the group of boys asked.
“Yes sir!”William exclaimed. “And if I do, I will help you do the homework!”
“Rather not!” the boys said back. “We rather do it ourselves than letting you make us get a big fat zero!”
That day went on smoothly with no disturbance from any boys at all. So, the party was thought to be a definitely fun party.
On Saturday, which is Collin’s birthday, while the group of boys were on Collin's car, they were debating with each other on what Collin's house actually looks like and what would the dinner be that night. Buffet? Barbecue?
As they carried the presents, they walked into the big bungalow, they were mesmerised by the beautiful house that have a pond, swimming pool and other facilities. Collin then told the boys that his parents had to attend a conference and they are allowed to roam around as they like, and the maids would only take care of the food.
Iain was afraid that the trick would be played, so he confronted Collin immediately and told him about the upcoming prank. Then, Collin whispered to Iain a few words and they nodded while grinning.
They soon began to dine at the 12-seater long dining table. Just after the sausages, puddings, spaghetti, pizzas and other tempting food were served, the signal for the surprise was shown. First, everyone except Collin and Iain went to the washroom. Suddenly, the dining room was in complete darkness! Iain and Collin had expected it, and they crawled under the table, took out two hideous ghost masks and two torches , then, they heard two voices, “Hey, where are they?” It was William and Harry standing by the table in the darkness, they wanted to play the trick but they could not find Collin! Suddenly, two figures wearing ghostly masks jumped out and shined the light onto their own faces, which made them look like real monsters! William and Harry shouted together, “GHOST!” They were really frightened stiff, they screamed for help. Then, the lights were turned on, and Collin and Iain sniggered at the other two, making them feel embarrassed, they stopped until laughing until Harry and William apologised to Collin, and said they just wanted to play, and Collin forgave them. Then, the four boys had a wonderful time at the party.
